Characterization.
The Municipal Directorate of Education is located in the Historic Center of the city, on Calle: Martí / Sartorio and Independencia and the premises of the Economic Subdirection at Avenida Rabí # 1 / Sartorio and Independencia.
The mission of the entity consists of directing, advising, executing and controlling the implementation, the policy of the state and the government in the educational levels, as well as coordinating and evaluating its quality and integrating the efforts of organisms, organizations and institutions of the society to achieve the integral - communist formation of the present and future generations.
The School Network is composed of 114 educational centers, 22 urban and 92 rural. Of the total, 2 are Children's Circles; 99 primary schools, 2 Special Schools, 3 Basic Secondary Schools, 2 pre-university schools (1 in the countryside), 2 polytechnics and 2 Adult Schools. 2 mixed centers operate.
There are 10,495 students in the different educational institutions: 341 in children's circles, 5395 in primary, 154 in special, 1856 in Basic Secondary, 816 in pre-university, 563 in technical and professional, 36 in Trades and 533 in adult. There are 1857 workers, of which 1526 are teachers.
Of the total number of workers, 1526 are teachers in the centers; they are educators, teachers, professors and teaching leaders; 129 teaching assistants, 74 librarians, 331 other teachers.

As part of the media outreach in the program Ciudad Abierta (Open City) of the Community Channel Gibaravisión, there was a dialogue about the activities that were developed by the Union of Young Communists, the José Martí Pioneers Organization and the rest of the organizations to greet the 94th birthday of our Unconquered Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz and those that will be carried out in salute to the 60th Anniversary of the Federation of Cuban Women.
During the Political and Cultural Gala, the Youth Card and the Youth for Life certificate were awarded to those who stood out in the fight against Covid, by the highest authorities of the territory.
The Art Instructors of the José Martí Brigade, the Jibà Dance Corps, amateur artists and the Galace Trio gave their art to the people of Gibara.
Pioneers of the seminternado Eddy Suñol Ricardo, held a special matutino, interacted with the sofwares of History of Cuba, played participatory games and other initiatives, which show that the living flame of Fidel's ideas will be forever.
As part of the link with the community in the special morning of the UEB Astinor "Alcides Pino" of Gibara. Poetry, song and oratory of pioneers, young people, workers and leaders of the territory, is the gift to his 94 Years of Victories.
Children of the children's circles "Los Graneritos" and "Sueños de Martí" enjoy the playgrounds, while their mothers calmly work during the summer in their work centers. This is one of the achievements of the Federation of Cuban Women, which will be celebrating its 60th anniversary in the coming days.
